MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

EMPLOYERS' PROSECUTED. Before Mr. Kettle, S.M., at the Magistrate's Court yesterday, T. H. Casey, contractor, Freeman's Bay, and H. J. Ashby, baker, Dominion Road, were charged with failing to keep a wages and overtime book between August, 1913, and January, 1914. Both admitted the offence. Casey was fined £5 and costs, and Ashby £2 and costs... Mrs. A. Poole, Mount Albert Road, was clarged with failure to close her grocer's stop at 7 p.in. It appeared that although for some reason it was impossible to have the front door closed, no business was transacted after the closing hour. The costs, 7s, were ordered to be paid.
