NEW SYLVIA.

RETURN OF £1292.

The manager of the New Sylvia mine, Thames, telegraphed yesterday that a crushing of 725 tons of ore realised bullion to the value of £942, and concentrates valued at £350, making a total return of £1292. WAIHI. The manager of the Waihi mine has sent the following cablegram to London: No. 10 Level: Royal Lode East—Driving south from the 788 ft crosscut, at 81ft we cut a reef 3ft wide, value 10s per ton; course, 180 degree?, underlying west. Driven 15ft south; value per " ton ss. Driven 19ft north; value per ton 36s 6d. Empire Lode West : 17ft driven; value per ton 225; width.about 18in. Dreadnought Branch Lode: 35 ft driven; value per ton 99s 6d. Edward Lode; West section, 17ft driven; value per ton 586. East section, 35ft driven ; value per ton, 16s 6d. Crosscut at 472 ft east, 29ft; value per ton 23s 6d. No. 11 level: Dreadnought Lode—West 25ft driven; value per ton 15s 6d; east, 49ft driven, value per ton 10s. NEW WAITAIA. A telegram was received froin the manager of the New Waitaia mine, Kuaotunu, yesterday, to the effect that a new run of payable gold had been struck in the north drive, intermediate level. GOOD HOPE. The annual report of the Good Hope Gold Mining Company (no liability) states that during the past year the mine has been under protection. It has also been under tribute for a short period, and is at present open for tributers. Protection does not expire until June, but the directors anticipate that before that date operations will again be commenced. The annual meeting of the company was to have been held yesterday, but lapsed for want of a quorum.
