MR E. S. GRUNDY.

Tins death occurred yesterday afternoon oi ' • Mr. E. S. Grundy, of the legal firm of Messrs. Black and Grundy. The late Mr. Grundy was. the eon of Mr. W. T. About threo years • ago, the late Mr. Grundy came to Auckland, and joined the firm of Messrs. Nicholson and Gribbin, but, severing his r connection with that firm, he had for six months been in partnership with Mr. W. A. Black. Since his arrival in Auckland the deceased made many friends, was well Nnown in athletic and aquatic circles, and was an active member of the Royal New ~ Zealand Yacht Squadron. Shortly after Christmas he contracted a severe illness and was confined to the Auckland Hospital, where he passed away.
