TRAWL FISH FOR SYDNEY.

Melbourne, March 4. The Federal Government is considering the question of supplying Sydrey daily •with trawl fish. An officer has been deputed to report on the subject, and he has consulted with Dr. Dannevig, the Federal fisheries expert. It is understood that an endeavour will be made to secure a trawler from New Zealand.

PROHIBITED IMMIGRANTS.

The result of to-day's meeting of the Labour caucus was not communicated to the press. The Telegraph understands that it is afaiost certain that the caucus will agree to the income tax exemption, being reduced from £300 to £250. This will apply to this year's inconr#;. No alteration will be made in the exemption of £50 for each child, but the tax on incomes from rural lands will be raised from 6d to Bd. The basis of taxation existing in New Zealand in respect of cheques and receipts will also be imposed.
