NEW HEBRIDES CONTROL.
EXCHANGE OR PURCHASE. By Telegraph Press Association—Copyright (Recored March 4, 11.6 p.m.)London, March 4. In the House of Commons last night, Sir C. Kinloch-Cooke (Unionist M.P. for Devonport) asked Sir E. Grey (Foreign Secretary) to enquire whether or not Australia would accept the responsibility for the administration of the New Hebrides.
Sir Edward said it was impossible to make the suggestion without asking whether they would themselves undertake to purchase or make an exchange of territory.
