' BIRKENHEAD REGATTA. . The Northoote and Birkenhead Regatta,: which* will be held off Northcote Point on Saturday-afternoon, promises to be a ,very successful function. A lengthy and attrac-' tive programme of events has been arranged. Mr. R. K. Smith has donated two cups for first and second-class yachts. The e.s. Sparrowhawk will act as flagship, and-launches will leave the Northcote Wharf at frequent intervals. The following entries have been received for- the principal events: First-class Yachts: Titanic, Mirk, Orangi, ' Rio,'* Venture, s "Decima; ; Bessie, Merrythought,' Starloeh', and Celox. -' iv. Second-class Yachts: Rewr,"•• Zephyr Flattie, C." H. Tutsee, Swan, Wild Wave' Old Sam, and Moakiri. : :■ — • Third-class Yachts: Tux, Soltano, Ngaro, Bbbrikoff, Wishbone, arid Rosina.. S, Visitors' Yacht Race: Merlin, Ngaro, Venus, Esma, .Ronald. Peri, Waitere, Roma, Calypso, arid Valeria. >'" /' * Launches under 7 knots:' Vita. Grayling, Kate L., Gorgonzola, Scout, and Waiomo!
