AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIPS. The championship matches under the auspices of the Auckland Croquet Association were commenced yesterday on the Remuera lawn. The results were :— .. LADIES' DOUBLES. Miss Hesketh and Miss Workman (Remuera) beat Mrs. Mackay and Mrs Baddeley (Mount Hobson). Mrs. Vause and Mrs. Schnauer (Onehunga) beat Miss Roberts and Mrs. Saxton. (Auckland). LADIES' SINGLES. Mrs. Briffault beat Mrs. Fullerton. This morning the matches will be continued. Mrs. Morton and Mrs. H. Walker will play Mrs. Smith and Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. McLean and Mrs. Harvey will play Mrs. Coutts and Mrs. Gallaugher, both matches starting at ten o'clock. Miss Hesketh will 'play Mrs. Payton in the singles at 1.30 p.m., and Mrs. O'Donnell will play Miss Workman at the same hour. Mrs. Walker will play Mrs. Scott on the first lawn vacant, while Mrs. Squirrell and Miss Esam are to be ready to play,when called upon. , The following matches have been fixed to be played to-morrow:—Mrs. Gardner and Mrs. Arey v. Miss Esam and Mrs. Rankin, at 10 a.m.; Mrs. Kidd and Mrs. Hudson v. Mrs. Thornes and Mi's. Walker, at 10 a.m.; Mrs. Mackay v. Mrs. McLean, at 1.30 p.m.; Mrs. "Oswald v.
