LABOUR IN POLITICS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association— London, January 29. The Labour conference at Glasgow has almost unanimously come to the conclusion that the permanent improvement of the workers can be fully realisable only by joint action on the part of the trade unions and independent bodies on political lines.
Mr. Ramsay Macdonald, the head of the Labour Party in the House of Commons,* strongly supported the resolution as a definite challenge to Syndicalism.
