This magnificent tone picture was played with tho band's accustomed brilliancy and finish, tho performance being enhanced by the discharge of bombs, and the employment of other (battle ejects. The dog show in the concert hall attracted many of the Exhibition visitors 'yesterday. Tho dogs having now been all judged, visitors can see which are prize-winners. The Exhibition Kennel i'liib held a most lovable smoke concert le*t evening in the Exhibition cafe, many members of the club and their friends being present. The sheep dog trials in the Domain today should attract much attention. As yesterday was children's day, a very largo number of the young folks'were to be found thoroughly enjoying themselves and sampling the many delights of '(he Exhibition. 'Die attendance yesterday was very much above the average for a Friday, and it was only the heavy showers in the evening which prevented it from being larger still. The total number of admissions 1 during the day was 12.426, and of these 10,'Kto (8117 adults and 2288 children)! paid for admission at the turnstiles, the remaining 2021 being admitted on their Reason tickets. The aquarium attracted sJB7 visitors, the art gallery about 300, and the dog show another 750. Owing to the absence of the Roval Artillery Band, there will be no Sunday afternoon concert to-morrow, neither will the Exhibition grounds be open to the public. To-night's Fiireworts. The fireworks display will start to-night at eight o'clock, instead of at nine o'clock. The earlier hour has been chosen out or consideration for tho patients in the Hospital, some of whom have been disturbed when the fireworks have been given later in the evening. The chief item of the programme will be a pyrotechnic repre»entation of the "Fall "of Adrianople.' Several other set-pieces will be included in tho programme. As before, the Domain Cricket Ground will be regarded as a danger none, since the rockets, etc., will be r m aimed that their sticks will fall in that direction. Band Concerts in Town Hall. A meeting of. tho Musical Committee was held in tho secretary's office yesterday afternoon. Mr. H. Brett, chairman, presiding. There were also present: Messrs. F. L. Gribbin, H. Gregson, C. B I'lommer, J. I). Crawford, G. Warren. C. Hudson, J. Williamson, and G. Elliot (president). Before the formal business of the meeting was commenced ' Mr. Brett said he desired to make an explanation in reference to a leUaf he had sent to the executive. Discussion arose regarding the arranging or programmes during the absence on Tour of toe Royal Artillery Band. A recommendation from a sub-committee that an orchestra be formed was agreed to, and it was also decided to hold an open-air concert on Saturday of next week.
