A joint committee of the coal porters and' vehicle workers has decided to terminate the strike. 'The coal firms deny that they have conceded the strikfers' 1 demands. Mr. Lockett, one of the ' principal employers, states that the men are returning to; work on the old terms. The men's demands would have-in-volved an 'increase' of 12$ per . cent, on the 'working' expenses, and brought the trade to the "verge of bankruptcy. * 7. " ' '
