THE DOG SHOW.

—— 1 i EXHIBITION KENNEL CLUB SUCCESSFUL OPENING. PRINCIPAL PRIZE WINNERS. The dog show, organised by the Auckland Exhibition Kennel Club, was opened in the Exhibition Concert Hall yesterday. As was anticipated, the show is the largest yet held in Auckland, the entries received being in the vicinity of 400, among them being competitors from as far south as Dunedin. Practically every breed to be found in New Zealand is represented, and, taken as a whole, the dogs shown [ are of good types. Mr. C. Court-Rice, a leading Australian . fancier, commenced the judging yesterday . morning, but so keen was the competition ) that evening was reached before all the classes had been dealt with. A pleasing feature of the show, is the provision made for the exhibits. The Concert Hall has . proved most suitable for the purposes oi 3 such a show, and in spite of the exception--3 ally large entries, ample space is left to . enable the public to make the round of > the benches without uncomfortable crowdj ing. Another striking feature is the facl ; that 77 special prizes were donated bj , clubs, fanciers, and business firms. THE PRIZE LIST.
