Ms. T. Harm Giles, Conciliation Com- ! misaioner, returned from Whangarei yesterday. Mr. J. G. Coates, M.P. for Kaipara, is joining the Hinemoa at Russell to-cky and ■will proceed to the Kaipara by the steamer. Mr. H. Poland, M.P. for Ohinemuri, who has been on a brief visit to Auckland, returned to his constituency yesterday afternoon. Mr. A. E. Glover, M.P., returned to Auckland by the Main Trunk express yesterday morning, after a brief visit to Wellington. Mr. James Geary died at the Waihi Hospital on Tuesday after a long and painful illness, at the age of 75 (telegraphs our correspondent). He was a well-known and highly-rcspected resident of the district. Captain Eastwood, A.D.C. to the Governor, is joining the Government steamer Hinemoa at Russell to-day and will make tho trip round the North Cape to the Kaipara. Sir Joseph Ward, Bart., will leave this morning for Te Aroha by the Rotorua express. Ho will be entertained there this evening nt a conversazione, after delivering a political address. Mr. J. Hislop, Under-Secretary * for Internal Affairs, arrived in Aucfclwid from Rotorua yesterday, in company ' with the Han- H. D. BelL Mr* Hislop will attend to Mima Departmental matters. in Auckland, and leave for Wellington to-morrow night. Mr. W. A. Redmond, M.P. for East Tyrone in the British House of Commons, and one of the prominent members of the Nationalist Party, will conclude his visit to Australia next month. He will sail from Sydney for Vancouver by the Marama on February 7 in order to arrive in London in time for the Homo Rule debate.'
