ARRIVALS AND DEPARTURES. The following report on arrivals and de- ? partures of shipping at Auckland for the i fortnight ended January 22 was submitted by the harbourmaster (Captain H. H. Ser- ' geant) at the meeting of the board yester- ? day:— ; «
The arrivals consisted of two British warships, two Royal mail steamers, 16 large cargo steamers, 10 intercolonial or Island traders, 15 coastal vessels from Southern ports, and \ the . Government steamer Hinemoa, a total of 46 vessels with an aggregate of 189,201 gross tons and 118,086 net tons, together with 365 local coasters of 58,227 gross tons, and n?; 1 »l net tons - The S rand total was 247,428 gross tons and 150,226 net tons. The departures consisted of two British warships, _ two Royal mail steamers, 14 intercolonial or Island traders, 11 large! cargo steamers, 13 coastal vessels for! Southern ports, one tug boat, and the! Government steamer Hinemoa, a total of I 45 vesals of an aggregate of 162,216 gross tons and 102,914 net tons, together with 396 local coasters of 63,138 gross tons and 36,255 net tons. This makes a grand total of 225,354 gross tons-and 139169 not tons.
