ENLARGEMENT OF SCHOOLS.

TEACHEES' APPOINTMENTS.

A meeting of the Auckland Education Board was held yesterday morning, Mr. G. J. Garland (chairman) presiding. There

were also present: Messrs. G. Edgecumbe, E. C. Purdie, E- C. Banks, A Burns, J. D. McKenzie, Auld, and C. T. Barriball. The architect was instructed to prepare plans and invite tenders for the enlargement of the following school buildings, for which the sums in parentheses have been authorised by the Minister: Ellerslie (£1370), Point Chevalier (£548), Whakatane (£350), Whangarei (£1875), Helensville (£425). On the recommendation of the chief inspector the readjustment of staffs at the Normal, Bayfield, and Grey Lynn schools was approved. The lollowing appointments were authorised :Mr. W. L. Cox, to be headmaster, Warkworth; Mr. H. W. C. Philips, headmaster, Kohukohu; Mr. W. J. Cahill, head-teacher, Panmure; Mrs. L. F. Marcroft, head-teacher, Pukekohe East; Mr. A. L. Sheppard, assistantmaster, Devonport; Miss M- A. Shroff, assistant, Epsom; Mr. W. A. G. Penlington, assistant-master, Normal School; Miss M. E. T. Soppett, assistant, Richmond Road.
