DEATH OF A CHILD.

[by telegraph.—press association.] Wellington, Tuesday. The inquest concerning the death of Thelma May Davis, a child whose bodywas found under a house at Rona Bay last October, was concluded to-day. A single woman, the mother of the child, is at present awaiting trial on a charge of murder. Dr. Maclaurin, Dominion analyst, stated that he had made exhaustive examination of the child's body, and found no poison except a trace of zinc, which was harmless in quantity, and probably was absorbed from paint on the bath in which the remains were forwarded to him. The coroner found that Thelma May Davis died about September 30, but the evidence was insufficient to show the cause of death.
