An offer was recently made by Representative Cummings, of Annapolis (Maryland), who is opposing women's suffrage, to present a suffrage petition to the Stats Legislature if the suffragists succeeded, as they proposed, in walking from Baltimore to AnnapolisA little band of women set out in an endeavour to do so, and covered 28 miles in four days. Only four, however, were able to complete the trip. Mr. Cummings, however, presented the petition. New York suffragists made a similar journey from Albany', to the State capital,', and. presented <&'■ petition to the" Governor. "
