New Yoke, January 9. Theee are many unemployed in the Pacific Coast cities extending northward and including Canada, and insistent demands are being made for employment on relief works. There are over 6000 out of work in San Francisco alone.
Employment conditions generally, throughout the United States and Canada are worse than they have been for many years.
The Austrian strikers yesterday entrenched around the Tecoma smelting works fought another battle with the sheriffs before the militia arrived and quelled the riot.. On« striker was wounded.
