Notice is hereby given that at a Specie Meeting of the Road Board of the One-trc Hill, Road District held on the 19th day c December, 1913, a resolution was passed b the said Board making By-laws under th powers conferred by " The Road Boards Ac 1908,". "The Public Health Act. 1908," an all or any other statutes it thereunto ei abhng. The object and purpose of the propose By-laws is to provide for and regulate: — I. The connecting of all property withi the drainage area with a sewer by mean of drains to carry away the sewage, refuE water, and household waste water. 2 The, manner and method of makin connections with the sewer and that onl plumbers authorised by the Board sha be permitted to dc. any plumbing work coi nected with drainage. 3. The method of construction of privat drains, the size, of pipes to be used, and th method of laying same. 4. The use of ventilating shafts and pipei and the method of fixing same. 5. The use and mode of construction c (a) waste and discharge pipes, (b) greas traps, (c) sinks, (d) subsoil pipes, (e) inlet to drains, (f) water closets, (g) supply ci( terns. 6. The inspection of premises by th Board's officials. 7. The keeping of ventilation opening free from obstruction. 8. The compulsory providing of watei closets and fixing charges for same. 9. Applications for and granting c licenses by the Board. 10. Within special areas the Board ma permit the use of septic tanks on the cor ditions set out in the By-laws. 11. Specifications for pipe-laying. 12 Specifications for plumbing. 13. Defining and limiting the work to b . done by licensed drain-connectors •an licensed plumbers respectively, and that n other person shall be permitted to execut any or such work. 14. The Board will, on request, execut drainage connections at the cost of the at plicant. . 15. Septic tanks may be ÜBed when wots ing satisfactorily, the Board reserving th right to stop their use and require connec tion to be made with the sewer. The resolution will be submitted for cot nrmation as a Special Order at a meeting c the Board to be held at the Board's Office Manukau Road, Epsom, on FRIDAY, th 23rd day of January, 1914, at 7.80 p.m. A full copy of the proposed By-laws ha been deposited at the Office of the Boar above-mentioned, and also at Mr. Boone' Store, Mannkau Road, One-tree Hill, and i there open for public inspection during oi tunary office hours.
