RAILWAY ACCIDENTS.

THREE MONTHS' COLLISIONS. Dubinq the three, months ending.on June--30 last 234 persons were killed and. 1971 injured in the course of public traffio on, the railways of the United Kingdom. In the corresponding period of 1912 the fatalities numbered 210 and the ca6es of injury 1818. Altogether, including accidents m which no personal injury was sustained, there ' were reported during the three months 11 collisions between passenger trains .or parts of passenger trains; 10 collisions between passenger trains and goods or mineral trains, light engines, etc; 24 collisions between goods trains, parts of goods trains, light engines, etc; 1 collision between a train and vehicles standing foul of tho line ; 7 collisions between trains and buffer-stops, or vehicles standing against buffer-stops; 16 cases of passenger trains or parts of passenger trains leaving the rails; 43 cases of goods, sta, trains, parts of goods trains, or light engines leaving the rails; 60 cases of trains running through gates at levelcrossings or into other obstructions; and 45 cases of fire in trains or vehicles.
