POST-SESSIONAL ADDRESS.
MR. BUDDO'S OPINIONS.
[BY TEUEGEAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Chbistchttbch, Friday. The member for Kaiapoi, the Hon. D. Buddo, delivered a post-sessional address at Kaiapoi this evening, and criticised the legislation of the Government, claiming that its activities could be summed up by saying that what new legislation had been passed by the Government was not good, and what was good was not new.
Referring to the strike, he said he was of opinion that it could have been settled after the first two or three weeks, when Parliament could very well have lent a hand in settling it, either fay setting up a Select Committee or by referring the matters in dispute to Sir Joshua Williams Outlining the probable policy of the "Liberals," if they were returned to power, Mr. jjuddo said thev would uo something to reduce the cost of living would provide for the free carriage of small children on railways, increase cue pay of teachers, and empower harbour boards and other local authorities to employ permanent wharf labourers.
