Although handicapped with an artificial leg Charles Devlin, of Texas, United States of America, has succeeded in cycling over 35,000 miles on a round the world tour. He arrived in Wellington yesterday morning by the Rotorua, after cycling through Australia and Tasmania. Devlin started on May 1, 1912, and has nearly four months to complete his journey, and so is almost sure to arrive on time. Sine© leaving home he has had many exciting adventures. Five times he has " stowed" away on vessels going from one country to another, and once was cast into gaol for selling postcards without permission. To date he has been through 13 States of America, Canada, Mexico, England, France, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, Italy, and Australia. and has used up four bicycles. He will stay in Wellington a few days, and will then go on to Auckland, leaving there for San Francisco and home.
