London, January 8. The master builders, exasperated by the recent sequenco of infringements, have terminated forthwith their working agreements with the unions of carpenters, joiners, bricklayers, masons, plasterers, and labourers. Over 150,000 men are affected.

The masters demand the cessation of isolated strikes, and the formation of a guarantee fund, to which both sides must contribute, to provide penalties against strikes and lock-outs. They ask further that the unions set their faces against a strike before the dispute has been referred to a conciliation board, and penalise all members for nonobservance of the rules-
