Oats: New btNisin'* crop 13 offering in lb? South. I) it nwie has been imported yet. Full M' k- are ho!,) locally, and there arc also l.w,'c quantities, bough', for spread delivery. I. m. price is 2s lid ex store for prune feed, but the market is not very firm, m a go d harvest is expected- It must in' remembered that although there it lets acreage under oats than there was last mmmi ~ the harvest was very unfortunate Usl ><•.., and a better yield is generally expected from the coming harvest. There are also poor prospects of export. Wheat: Milling wheat is kept firm through millers steadily picking up any odd lot., offering. The new harvest should be available i.eu month, but it will not do for nulling at once, except with a large proportion of old season's. row! Wheat : Slocks are still light, and t/<-> price is firm at 5s ex store.

Bran : Full stocks are held. Demand is rattier light at present, but it should improve if the present weather lasts long. Pollard ; Demand is rather quiet. Stocks are ample fur all requirements. Maize: Demand is only fair, but the price keep* up. Stocks in store are sufficient lor orders, and further supplies are 01. .he way from the coast. There is also a small lot of I,land maize over at Cheken. that will he brought across ..nd discharged from the Fiona shortly.

__ Chaff: Canterbury and Blenheim chaff is selling at £7. ex store, but there ie 110 o.d local available now. New is offering freely, but buyers are afraid to take it except, in small quantities. Fertilisers : Stocks are very light, as neither of the Sydney steamers brought anv across, being filled up with transhipment goods. Supplies are badly wanted, &a there is very little local to be had. The A pari ma is exported about the end of the month with a shipment from Calcutta. Siiyo and Tapioca : Both aro quoted at low rate« compared to recent years. A. small quantity came from Sydney, but local stocks are still light, as full supplies will not be available till the Aparima arrive*.

Peanuts: Full supplies are now here. The market is firm for. forward delivery, but lower prices are expected before long. Canary Seed : Stocks low on account of Hie interruption to trade in Turkey. However, it is reported that the market is now easier for forward delivery, so that eviuontlv fair quantities have been harvested.

Jute Goods: Calcutta reports show that, although not much Business has been dome, the market is strong;, and prices tzjt.-w 1 steady. The financial troubles on the other side of India have affected Calcutta only in bo far a 8 causing a very ftriwtwit money market, and it is significant that the jute dealers have had sufficient confidence to retain their holdings, and to prevent a premature decline. They have evidently reason to Believe that by waiting they will Pu t all the crop into comrurnptinr, at full prices. Oils: Ph-vll benzine has been discharged from the Havre, an distributed in sales jlir-rt from the wharf. A shipment of kerosene is due about the end of next week, and booking is already taking

Clothes Pews : Stocks are absolutely hare. Shipment* are on the way. and show the much higher cost expected, accordiw to recent advices. Tobacco : Several brands are now availanle that have been in short supply. KAURI CUM. Pile Select; Only small parcels are cfimi.in to hand, and these are being pU'trl at moderate prices. East Coast : The market is still very depressed. Tins description can only bo sold at very low rates. Black : Good hard, clean parcels are readily placed if free from streakv pieces. Bush: ];..!<! bled and rcscraped can be placed at f.nr prices if of a good colour, and free fern soft pieces. Medium and poor «,d>.u are selling fairly welL Bush chips are aUo in faar domain!.
