The market is quiet, but firm and steady, and higher prices are anticipated. Price* nominal for New Zealand ; no change in prices for English Cheddar. The estimated Canadian cheese stocks at London, Liverpool, and Bristol on January 2 were 223.000 cases, against 309.000 '•ases at the same time last year. NewZealand and Australian stocks at London and Bristol wore 7000 cases, against 17,500 at tho same time last year. HEMP. The market is quiet but rather steadier, although business is dull. New Zealand. good fair, pox ton £25 10s, fair £23 10s; Manila, fair current, on spot £27, forward shipment about same. 9 HOPS. Market prospects are favourable, and holders are firm.
