A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Cricket Council was hold to-day. A letter was read from the Australian Board of Control, stating that it was necessary that particulars should be furnished as to the conditions under which Mr. Sims's Australian team is coming to New Zealand, more especially as to financial arrangements with players who are visiting New Zealand, as the question of giving permission cannot be considered without this information. It was resolved to reply as follows:"That this council is unaware as to what financial arrangements Mr. Sims is making with the players, but has requested him to give the information asked for to you. Our arrangements with Mr. Sims are that he receives 50 per cent, of gross proceeds of New Zealand matches and matches against minor associations, and 60 ier c-nt. of gross proceeds of other matches. The secretary of the Wellington fcJricket Association wrote repeating an application made to the council for a match with the New Zealand team on its return from Australia, and offered the council 50 per cent of the net profits of the match. It was resolved to reply that if the Wellington Association agrees to guarantee 50 per cent, of the net proceeds of the match, with a minimum of »75, the council would be prepared to communicate with the manager of the New Zealand team in order to ascertain whether the members of the team would be prepared to continue the tour for the necessary time to play the match. The secretary of the Wellington Cricket Association wrote stating that at last meeting of the Wellington Association held on December 16 it was decided that the attention of the New Zealand Cricket Council should be drawn to the fact that the Wellington Association, having declined to make any guarantee towards the expenses of sending a fourteenth man to Australia, could not in any way contribute towards the expense of a fourteenth man.
