BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES. • COMPARISON FOR TWO YEARS. The number of births registered in Auckland during the year just closed constitutes a record. The actual number was 3356, which is 167 above tho next highest number, which was recorded in 1912. Death* show an increase of 172, the figures for 1913 and 1912 being 1391 and 1219 respectively. The number of marriages during 1913 was 1545, as compared with 1697 for 1912—a decrease of 52. A total of 354 marriage ceremonies were performed by the registrar during the year, which is 11 more than for 1912. The number of births Hast month was 291, as against 259 in November and 269 in December of 1912. Curing December, 112 deaths occurred, the total for the lame month of 1912 being 126. Marriages last montk totalled ,165, one less than in December, ,1912, TJpty-sight
marriages were performed by the registrar last month, which is 13 more than for, the same month of the preceding year. .
