Auckland, during the Christmas and New Year holi days:— Thursday, December 25 (Christmas Day), and January 1 (New Year's Day), will be observed as close holidays. All mails will be closed on both days at 7 a.m. Loose letters for Southern mails, Australia, etc., may bo posted on the train up to 9.10 p.m. on both days. „, .. Friday. December 26 (Boxing Day), the office will be open in all branches except Money Order and Savings Bank from 9 am. to 10 am. Mails will close at 8 a.m. Loose letters for Southern mails may be posted on the train up to 9.10 p.m. Street letter-boxes will be cleared at midnight on Thursday. December 25, and Friday, December 26, and Thursday, January 1 On December 26 one completo delivery by carrier will bo made, commencing at 7.30 a.m. A delivery of town letters, registered and ordinary, will be mado over tho counter on the evenings of Wednesday, December 24 and 31, from 7 to 8 p.nu in the letter-carriers' branch, on the first floor.

TELEGRAPH OFFICE. The Telograph Office will be open during the holidays as follows:—Christmas Day, 930 to 10 a.m. and 5 to 530 p.m.: Boring Dav. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to mid night. Tho Telephone Exchange will be open as usual. Note.—A post and telegraph office has been opened it the Exhibition Buildings., Mails closo at Exhibition Post Offico for Chief Post Office every hour, from 9 a ra. to 5 p m . on-t at 8 m. Mails will be despatched to the Exhibition at 8.15 and 11 a.m.. and 2 and 3 45 o.m. Hole Letter mails close at Auckland South Central Post Office 15 minutes before all mails closing at Chief Post Office, between 9 a.m and 530 p.m. daily, and full mails hourly between those hours. F.
