The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New.Zealand discussed at great length the report of the committee on tho Bible in State Schools League. The Rev. R. E. Davies (Dunedin) moved a resolution, urging ministers to give every facility to their congregations for the signing of cards and reaffirming the demand for a referendum. • The Rev. A. Cameron moved, as an amendment, "That this assembly, while. advocating religious instruction in tho schools, objects utterly to laying the imposition of the duty of giving religious instruction on the teachers of the primary schools, and also to tho introduction into our schools of denominational instruction with its divisive influence, both on the religious and social life of the people." On division the motion was agreed to by 132, only 13 voting for the amendment.
