SOCIALISM IN EMPIRE
By Telegraph— Association— (Boccivcd December 13, 12.15 a.m.) London, December 12. In responding to the Fabian Society's welcome given him yesterday on his arrival in England, M. Anatole France, the French author, said that if one contemplated the British Empire, one saw socialism established wherever new civilisation favoured its advance. He instanced Australia and New Zealand as being places where socialism promised an important and complete evolution.
