K. Dawson, of Ellerslie, is tho first Aucklander to purchase a Standard light car. Mr. A. L. Wilson, of Auckland, shipped his newly-acquired- Singer light car to Rotorua on Tuesday. He will go on to Taupo in his car. Mr. George Elliot, president of the Auckland Exhibition Executive Committee, has purchased a Singer light car. Mr. 6. W. Hyde, of Hamilton, and Mr. Douglas Jack, of Auckland, have also purchased Singer light cars. A commercial machine which is likely •to be in great demand shortly is the Wail parcel car. _ This machine is a three-wheeler with the single wheel, engine, and seat in front. The covered-in body, which will carry 6cwt of goods," is placed over the two rear wheels. The Wall parcel car will cost about £150 and only costs 3s 4d per mile to run. •i The first true type of char-a-banc to bo imported into Auckland ready for the road was landed this week. It is a 40-h.p. 28-passenger Daimler, containing all tho latest improvements, including electric .lighting, footrails and mats. It is just as comfortable as the ordinary touring car. It will be used for tourist work in the vicinity _ of Auckland. ■ _ The ' importance of the motor .business in Auckland may be judged from a report , made by a local firm yesterday. • This firm accepted delivery from the steamers Kaipara and Waiwera, in eight days, of motorcars and lorries to the value'of £11,810. Every car and lorry in these shipments has been sold. The shipments included sixlarge Daimler lorries, one Commer lorry, two 20-h.p. five-seater Daimler touring cars, and several Singer light cars. §f|A very fine motor-car was landed this week and sold to Mr. J.'Shaw, of Auckland. It. is a 20-h.p. five-seater Daimler touring car, the fittings of which are silverplated, while the body is painted in a soft grey, the colours and fittings harmonising ; pleasingly. The; car is fitted with 'a C.A.V. 'dynamo electric lighting outfit, •». A 1914 model B.S.A. car has been sold to Mr. B. A. Keves, of Northcote. It will arrive next month. A new model Auckland five-seater touring ear has been, sold to Dr. Rossiter, of Mount Albert. It is fitted with Delco • electric self-starter, light and ignition. Tho f Auckland Automobile Association has decided to abandon the proposal to take' the- blind children of the Jubilee Institute on a motor excursion. The excursion was to have taken place to-day, ■ but it was found that many of the children bad gone away on their summer vacation. '.

\ v PROVINCIAL ASSOCIATION. X MONTHLY MEETING. The monthly meeting of the above association was* held' last evening, when a fair attendance of delegates was' present. It was decided to ' hold the Dunlop shield contest under the same rules as last year.' Entries for the contest were received from the following clubs:— land, Devonport, Parnell, West End, Eden ; and Epsom, Remuera, and Onehunga. The draw for the first round was fixed as follows:—Devonport v. Remuera, West End v. Parnell, Onehunga v. Eden and Epsom, Auckland :a : bye.
