SWIMMING.
WAITEMATA CLUB. CARNIVAL ON FRIDAY NEXT. The Waitemata Swimming Club lias decided to hold the first carnival of the season next Friday evening, in the Albert Street baths. An attractive programme has been arranged, and a good exhibition of swimming should be witnessed, 'ihe club will hold its annual meeting in the Tailoreeses' Hall, Cook Street, on Monday evening, and entries for the carnival will close immediately after the meeting. The programme for Friday will include a 215 yds handicap, 72yds handicap, 36yds handicap, 50yds novice handicap, 36yds boys' handicap, 36yds ladies' handicap, and a number of novelty events.
