NORTH SHORE YICHT .CLUB. THIRD CRUISING RACE. '■ The North Shore Yacht Club is holding its third cruising race this afternoon to ■ Awaroa Bay. The first throe classes go around Wailfeke to Awaroa, classes 4, 5, 6 and launches going direct to Awaroa. while class 7 race over the usual harbour course. The races will start off Stanley Bay Wharf, keeping outside Sandspit buoy and Brown's Island beacon and finishing between launch and end of Awaroa Wharf. After the race members are going ashore to Mr. J. Cordon's hall. Several yachts and launches are taking lady and gentlemen musicians, and a good evening's entertainment is expected if the wind allows the racers to finish in good time. On his return to Sydney Mr. Walter M. Marks, the well-known yachtsman, who was recently in Auckland, was unstinted I in his praise of New Zealand waters for yachting, and described them as the best cruising grounds in the world, Mr. Marks was elected an honorary member of tho Royal New Zealand Yacht-Squadron, the members of which institution entertained him at a banquet, and have written Sir Thomas Lipton with the request that Mr. Marks should be allowed to represent the Dominion as well as the Commonwealth on the Shamrock in the races for the America Cup iii September next.
