Theso crews, who have been in training for about a fortnight, rowed by way of the Tamaki River, passing Panmure en route, and covered tho entire distance of 14 miles in the highly creditable time of two hours, both on the outward and the return trips. Fortunately the sea was moderato, and the row provided useful training for the crows. Activities at the club-house are now in full swing, and there is every indication of a very successful season. Trial fours for non-regatta rowers are to be held on Saturday next. WEST END CLUB. Tho two light maiden regatta crews at present in training will row off at 3 p.m. to-day, in order to enable the selectors to make final arrangement* for Russell. Tho several regatta crews in training for the Russell regatta on tho 27th just., havo now settled down to steady Work, with the exception of the heavy maiden crew, which has been temporarily disbanded. Tho crows have been unusually fortunate in securing the services of most capable coaches since the commencement of their training, and the remaining fortnight should see tue members in good regatta form.

Entries close with the secretary, at the boathouse, on Tuesday, 16th instant, at 5 p.m. In viow of the coming trials, the, committee wishes to see a large attendance at tho shed for •training purposes in the evening. WA ITEM ATA BOATING CLUB. The new boathouse now building for the Waitemata Club is sufficiently far advanced to allow of the storage of boats and to provide conveniences for training crews. In consequence, the regatta crews for Whangarei and Russell, which are severely handicapped through late selection, are now able to go into training immediately. It is hoped that by assiduous and careful work to pick up satisfactory combination by the 29th. The club, in pursuance of its usual policy, will enter crews for every race at both Northern regattas. The now boathouSe, built in a sheltered position nt the east end of the reclamation, facing Campbell's Point, will be, when completed,-the largest in Auckland, and the opening function should eventuate early next year. Some £350 is still required to meet the cost of the building, and an excellent opportunity for showing their material interest is thus open to all friends and supporters.
