POLICE COURT NEWS.

Convicted of insobriety, in the Police Court yesterday, one first offender was fined 5s by Mr. F. V. Frazer, S.M. Another first offending inebriate, who was not present to answer the charge, was fined the amount of his bail—£l.

Arrested on a charge of having failed to provide his wife with adequate maintenance, Charles James Stevens was remanded for a week, bail being allowed in one surety of £50.
