Father Bernard Vaughan, the celebrated London preacher, has boon invited by the New Zealand and Victorian Catholic Federations, to visit Australia and New Zealand. It is expected that he will accedo to the request and make the visit next year.

Archdeacon Alfred Neild, general secretary of the M'ilanesian Mission in New Zealand, is at present conducting the services at St. Thomas's Church, Union Street, as the charge is still vacant since the departure of the Rev. H. A. Favell to Whangarei.

McCullough. employees' assessor, left by the Main Trunk express train last evening for Wellington, where a brief session of the Court will bo held. Mr. W. Pryor, who has acted as employers' assessor aming the indisposition of Mr. W. Scott, returned to Wellington by Sunday evening's train.

The Rev. J. C. Fitzgerald and the Rev. Timothy Reps, who took part in the general mission to New Zealand two years ago, arrived at the Bluff yesterday. Mr. Fitzperald was the missioner at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, and he will conduct a special mission at that church from November 15 to 24. Meanwhile, hf< will visit Christchurch, Wellington, Nelson, and two centres in the Waiapu diocese. Mr. Rees v, ill conduct another mission at Paeroa.
