MOTOR-CAR OVERTURNS.

MISHAP TO GOLF PARTY.

TWO MEN INJURED.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—

'■] Wangaotti, Monday. As a motor-car, containing Arthur Duncan, Arthur Gillies, Harold Thomson, and Gonville Saunders (well-known golfers), was proceeding to the golf links this morning the front wheels of the car side-slipped when the driver attempted to get clear of a dog in the main street. The spokes of the wheel broke, a tyre burst, and the car turned completely over.

Duncan, Gillies, and Saunders, who were in the back seat, were thrown clear of the car, and escaped with a few bruises. The driver of the car, a man named Carter, fell heavily on the side of his head inside the car, and was picked

Thomson also fell on the

side of his head, with the car on top of him.

Both the injured men were carried into an adjoining shop, and medical aid was obtained. The driver soon recovered consciousness, and Thomson also revived. The latter had strained the muscles of one arm apparently. Neither had bones broken, but their faces were much cut about and their bodies bruised.

The car was smashed considerably.
