RAILWAY PORTER INJURED.

[BY TELEGRAPH.— rKESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday A railway porter, named Robert Arkurighl, was the victim of a serious accident at Lower Hutt this evening. He was assisting in shunting, and while riding on a car, apparently slipped as he attempted to jump off at the signal box.

Arkwright suffered a compound fracture of the left leg and a flesh wound on the right leg. He was brought to the city by a special train, and sent to the hospital.
