The number includes Princess Victoria Augusta, the Duke and Duchess of Aosta, ex-Queen Amelie of Portugal, the Infante and Infanta Carlos, the Duke of Oporto, Prince Eitel Friedrich, the Crown Prince and Princess of Roumania.
Cardinal Natto will perform the marriage ceremony.
King George and Queen Mary have sent seven silver dinner dishes, and Queen Alexandra a gold loving cup as wedding presents.
Extraordinary secrecy is being observed regarding the wedding presents from loyalists.
JEWELLERS TERRORISED.
REQUEST FOR PROTECTION.
Lisbon, September 3.
The Carbonarioo (or members of the extreme Republican Party) threaten that the ex-King Manoel's present to his bride— diadem studded with 2000 diamonds and emeralds—which is being made at Lisbon, shall never reach its destination, and are maintaining a constant watch on the shop where the gift is being manufactured.
The jewellers have requested the Government' protection.
