DISASTERS PREDICTED.
PRINCE AND PALMIST. [from OUR own correspondent.] London, July 23. The Paris correspondent Daily Telegraph says that the late M. Jules Mancini,' of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, just before the outbreak of the Balkan War, gave him a forecast of events which proved extraordinarily accurate. M. Mancini was some years with the French Legation at Sofia, and had remained in touch ever since with King Ferdinand. He was a firm believer in palmistry. Ten years ago, at Sofia, during a reception at the palace, the then Prince Ferdinand asked M. Mancini to tell his fortune. The yoang diplomatist had to obey, and after reading' the Prince's hand, said:—"l see Your Highness's influence and power constantly tffi the increase. You will reach the culminating point of your fortunes in the year 1912." "And after that?" aaked the Prince. " After that, Your Highness, I see nothing," said M. Mancini. After leaving the palace, the young diplomatist's colleagues asked him if he had really seen nothing after 1912. "Yes, .1 did see something very clearly. I saw the direst catastrophe for the year 1913, but 1 could hardly tell the Prince that." This prediction was written and published many years ago.
