I NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a i JLi Special Meeting of the Popatoetoe I Road Board, held on the fourth day of I August, 1913, a resolution was passed: — That in pursuance of the powers vested in it by "The Road Boards Act 1908" and its amendments, "The Public Works Act 1908"' and its amendments, "The Dog Registration Aot 1905," and "The Public Health Act 190S" and its amendments, and by all or any other Statutes it hereunto enabling, the Road Board of the Papatoetoe Road District doth hereby make ■ and enact the following bylaws (to come into operation on the gazetting thereof), via. (he.ro follow the by-laws). The object or purport of the 3aid By-laws is:— .■' PART I. Contains the general interpretation clause, defines offence, and provides a penalty not exceeding ■£& for each , offence, and £5 per day for any continuing offence, and gives the Board power to relax, modify, or dispense with the observance of any by-law. PART 11. In respect of the care and management of roads, regulates the protection of footpaths and roads from damage, deals with the obstruction 7 of roads by vehicles and materials, the wandering of cattle, the deposit of rubbish or spilling of nightsoil or offensive matter in or near roads, . the draining of offensive matter or dripping of roof discharges on to roads, the burning of litter on. roads or vacant allotments, damage by dogs on roads, the uae and rcgu- - la tion of bicycle, motor-car,'vehicu-lar and horse traffic, the construction of crossings and drains in footpaths, and other similar matters, and provides sundry payments or charges in respect of sucbi . matters. ■ PART m.: In respect oi Dwelling Sites, Erovides for every site for a new ouse being at Hiast a Quarter-acre in. area, with one chain frontage to a road, with exceptions in case of land shown en public or deposited plans prior to tho gazetting of these By-iawa, or land the sole property of a psr.ro::?., or shops with dwelling rooms attached upon any ~ site having a frontage to a public * .road (subject in such case to certain drainage requirements), also renders necessary specified air spaces and provides against their diminution, and regulates formation of ground underneath house. PART IV.: In respect of Sanitary Matters, permits in certain circumstances and regulates the burial and cartage of nightnoil and offensive matter, regulates the construction, ■:.'position, requirements, and supervision of sewage tanks, water closets, pt.n privies, sufficient privies, drainage pits, ashpits, . stables, pigsties, and fowlyards. regulates the keeping of pigs and fowls, deals with the requirements of house and other drainage, the prevention of nuisances, and gives full sanitaiy control to the Board. PART V.: Regulating Heavy Traffic. The said resolution will be submitted to the ordinary meeting of the said Papatoetoe Road Board to be held at the Board's Office at Papatoetoe on MONDAY, the 15th day of September, 1913, for confirmation as a Special Order. A copy of the proposed By-laws is deposited at the said office of the Board, and another copy thereof is deposited at Mr. George Bryett's Store, Papatoetoe, where the same will lie open to the inspection of all ratepayers during office hours until the said Confirming Meeting is held. A PROCLAMATION. , Whereas the land described in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken, under the Public Works Act. 1908, for a certain public work, to wit. for the purposes of a road in Block VIII., Onewhero" Survey District, Raglan County. And whereas the Raglan County Council has laid before the Governor a memorial, accompanied by a map, and also the statutory declaration, as required by the said Act: , . Now, therefore, I. Arthur William de Brito Savile, Earl of Liverpool, the Governor of the Dominion of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise of the sowers and authorities vested in me by the Public .Works Act, 1908, and of every other power and authority in anywise enabling me in this behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes oi a road, and I do also declare that this Proclamation shall take effect on and after the thirtieth day of August, one thousand nine, hundred and thirteen.
