Rain interfered with the final gallops at Riccarton this morning, but the sand U-ack was in good order. Ceylon pleased better than Waitoto over four furlongs, run in 51 3-ss. Pilsrim'3 Way sprinted half a mile. Awahou beat Mummer attractively over seven furiongs in lm 30 3-ss. An excellent gallop. North-East took lm 31 2-5s for the. same journey. Bercola and Coronetted were together at the end of six furlongs, run in lm 17 l-ss. Roroma and Nappcr Tandy covered seven furlongs, run in lm 34 2!>s. Kilrain beat Kew easily over seven furlongs, in lm 33 l-ss. Kilmeny and Cornet sprinted half a milo .in 50s. Dorando and Slovens galloped seven furlongs in lm 38b. Ladrone and Kimona sprinted four furlongs in 51s. Eocene and Gerbera taking 51 l-ss. Royal Arms showed to better advantage than Crown Pearl and Diavolo over seven furlongs, run in lm 33 2-sa. Goodwin Park ran seven furlongs in lm 35 l-ss. but finished badly. The Spaniard. Nedrit, Glenfinnan. Paritutu. Loch Mabin. St. Aidan. Buff Gauntlet, Kia ' Ora, Sea King, and Gold Pin did steady to j strong pacing. Fireworks is reported sore. There are a large number of visitors ii\ town, and the meeting promises to be a record one. In the steeplechase the whole of the acceptors are expected to go to the nost. and with a well-conditioned field the issue is very open.
