CHINA STATION FLAGSHIP.
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. London, August 6. The battleship Triumph has been commissioned at Portsmouth as the flagship of the China station. The Triumph is one of two battleships built in 1904 for a- South American Government, and acquired by Great Britain before they passed from the builders' hands. The new flagship was built by Messrs. Vickers, Sons, and Maxim, at Barrow. She is of 11,800 tons displacement, and can steam 19£ knots an hour. She carries four lOin guns, besides smaller armament. Her cost was £845,000.
The Public Service Commissioner invites applications for the position of inspector of machinery at a salary of £300 per annum.
