Riddkll, S.M., dismissed a case brought -by the Labour Department against the City.. .Corporation of alleged breaches of the carpenters' 'award... in employing men who are not carpenters at timbering in trenches and boxing concrete. The men were timbermen under the General Labourers' Award, and got Is 3d an hour. The carpenters' rate is Is 4-Jd. The magistrate said ho could not hold this particular class of work was eolely carpenters' work.
