COMING EXHIBITION.
SOUTH AUCKLAND COURT.
The proposal to have a South Auckland Court at the forthcoming Exhibition was brought before the meeting of the Manukau County Council yesterday by Captain Colbeck, who stated that the matter had been mentioned to him by Mr. W, R. Holmes (secretary to the Exhibition). Captain Colbeck yaid that other districts would be represented at the Exhibition, and it was therefore imperative that South Auckland should make a worthy display. Tinidea was to have all the districts "as far as To Kuiti represented. He suggested that the county councils might each donate £20 or £25. and the road boards £5 each. The expenditure spread over a wide area would not be severely felt. Such a court as that suggested would prove a splendid advertisement for the district. Besides this, farmers would reap a lot from the Exhibition in the way of extra. sales of butter, eggs, and other produce. It waa resolved, on the motion of the- chairman (Mr. H. R. McKenzie) that the Manukau County Council should contribute £20 towards the court, and that the clerk be instructed to write to all the road boards in the county requesting that they should each contribute £5.
