Another crowded house greeted the performance of " The Parish Priest," at Hia Majesty's Theatre, last night. In the title role Mr. Allan Doone gave a sterling performance, and his singing and acting were received with every sign of satisfaction. The other parts were all capably filled. OPERA HOUSE. The new programme at the Opera Hotisa was accorded another enthusiastic reception last night. The various artists provided "turns" of exceptional merit, those of the Ilolvos, Signer Corona, and Jennings and Gerrald being particularly popular. THE SMART SET. The Smart Set continue to attract large audience to the Town Hall concert chamber each evening. Mr. Edward Elliot's revue is as popular as ever, and is greeted with shrieks of laughter. ROYAL RINK CARNIVAL. Skating devotees generously" patronised tho Royal Roller Rink last night; when a very fine poster and costume carnival, was held. The rink was daintily festooned with lanterns, and this, added to the gay decoration of flags, lent, a very effective colour touch. Especially .charming was the variety of costumes. n Some r * ;( were grotesque, but all were, attractive., r : ;! Tho grand parade was a beautiful .array of pretty, hues. First the. skaters proceeded round the rink in columns of'threes.' and the formation gradually . developed into groups of sixteen. A .large number of valuable prizes were presented to the winners of the different events. Miss Martin took . the first prize for being 5 the wearer of the best'lady's poster costume,; and Mr. S. Dickey was* first in the gentleman's event. Mrs. Dowson was ad-; judged the lady with the,; most elegant fancy costume. She was; attired ■■in;' the quaint harem skirt. . Miss. H. Gray, who was similarly dressed, was'awarded" a special prize. .For the most original poster, Miss I. Kennedy (representing; a local photography firm), and Mr. J*. Casey, J. Lewiu, ml D. Watts (driver), who were, all magnificently; bedecked in jewels, were the winters. Daintily costumed as seaside girls, yeJow and gold tints being chosen-for the ■ costumes, Misses C. Ciark, M. Hendry, P. Hendry, A. Reid, and D. Payne won. the prize "for the best fancy-dressed team.
