London, June 10.
Both in Servia and Bulgaria, it is believed, that war is now inevitable j between, the two countries over the division of the conquered territory. Martial law has been proclaimed in Sofia, and the railway service between Servia and Bulgaria has been suspended. The Bulgarians, who were previously massed round Salonika to face the Greeks, are now* moving northwards against the a force ,of only 60,000 has been left oppose the Greeks.
i TERMS OF THE TREATY. The Treaty of Alliance which was concluded between Servia and Bulgaria in March, 1912, besides specifying the nature of the military assistance mutually to be rendered by the two States, also prescribed the future * division of any territorial conquests which the allies might make in a successful war jointly to be undertaken against Turkey. At the time the treaty was signed it is probable that autonomy for Macedonia was contemplated, while the formation of an Albanian • State was not foreseen. It was, also expected that AustriaHungary's interests in the Sanjak ofNovibazar would preclude any chance of its becoming spoil of war. By the terms of this treaty two spheres of Ottoman territory were prescribed, one for each ally, within which the future sovereignty of each was mutually recognised. As the destiny of certain districts could not then be determined, a certain area between the two spheres was defined, and it was agreed that the arbitration of the Tsar of Russia should be accepted as deciding the exact division of this debatable area between Bulgaria and Servia.
