BOXING.
MEETING OF NORTHERN ASSOCIATION. . A meeting of the Management -Committee of the Northern Boxing Association was held last evening, Mr. H. Keesing in the chair. . " ■'• Mr. A. M. Myers, who was. elected patron of the association at the annual meeting, wrote stating that he would present a medal to the local amateur who displayed the most science during the season. The date of the championship meeting was fixed for the 1 first week in July. F. Kerr, who was to have met Bennetts at . the . carnival on June 3. wrote stating ! that owing to an accident he . would be unable to fulfil his engagement. The committee decided to communicate with Jarvis, of Palmerston • North, with a view to a match with Bennetts. '■■'. The committee dealt at length with several, suggestions made, bv the Boxers and Trainers' Association. It was decided to write to the new association, but the contents of .the letter were not available to the press. • - -■■';■
