SHIPPING LAW.
ACT RECEIVES ROYAL ASSENT. ; • [BY - TELEGRAPH.— ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Thursday. The Royal assent has been given to the Shipping and: Seamen's Amendment Act, 1912, which will come into operation on May 1 next. The Act makes provision covering .the division of loss caused by collisions, damages for, personal injuries, the general duty to render assistance to persons in danger at sea, apportionment of salvage amongst the owners of foreign ships, limitation of actions, and boat drill.
