DRUM AND FIFE BAND.
AUCKLAND BOYS' TOUR.
The Ponsonby Boys' Drum and Fife Band is expected to return to Auckland from the south to-morrow afternoon. The band will play at Huntly this evening, and has also an engagement for to-morrow morning. The visit of the Auckland band to Wellington has been the means of causing steps to be taken to form a similar band in connection with the Wellington Boys' Institute. A meeting of those interested was held, and those present being of opinion that a band would be a desirable institution a committee was set up to make preliminary arrangements, and to advertise at once for a bandmaster- During their star in Wellington one of the members of the band, named Williams, who was climbing a stack of timber, fell, and was struck in the face by a piece of timber which was dislodged. His injuries, which were only of a minor nature, were attended to by a doctor.
