ELECTION OF OFFICERS. THE annual meeting of the governing inen> "> bers of the Young Men's Christian Association was held last night in the association's .;" \. rooms in Albert Street. Mr. John W. . Stewart, vice-president, occupied the chair in the absenca of Mr. B. Leslie Stewart (president). The latter was re-elected to the presidency subject to his acceptance. _, '.: Apologies were read from Messrs. T. ' Milter. Wellington, Wesley Spragg, S. Barry, "■-' G. Fountain, and the Sev. Snowies Eemp-; ■ ton. .■>• "..,» ■■■"■_-.'*.- The 57th annual report was read by Mr. ~ Buttle, the minutes of the former meeting \ ; by Mr. Hill, and the balance-sheet by Mr. Barr. All were received, the latter sabject to the examination of the auditors. .... The following nominations were not in excess of the vacant positions, so that those nominated were elected to office with-: out opposition or ballot:—Vice-presidents, Messrs. J. W. Stewart. A. 0. Caughey, Wesley Spragff, the Kev. W. G. Gillam, and the Hon. G. Fowlds; hon. treasurer, Mr. «T. M, Barr: hon. seorotary, Mr. S. Barry; directors, Messrs. Thos. Miller, B. W. Buttle, T. P. Hill, W. E. Bush. H. E. Pacey. *A. Mill. Bay Price, Jas. Taylor, H. G. Fountain, J. Heaton Barker. T. Clark, and W. F. Harropt; hon. auditors, Messrs. G. A. Buttle and T. E. Montgomery. . , . ', Mr. Barry (hon. secretary), who is at present out of town, and had not submitted his nomination paper, was re-elected to his former position subject to his acceptance; A special meeting followed, and a resolution that the present articles of the association be rescinded by the governing members, and that the new artioles be enacted —as amended at last night's meetinjr, to be confirmed or repudiated at a meeting to be held on April was carried. .
